I WAKE up and I FADE to Wheezy

Look who I saw:

Wheezy hosted a book signing at Vroman's Bookstore in Pasadena. I was surprised to find a standing-room-only room full of women and girls listening to her reading passages from "Fade." Then the audience asked questions of Wheezy and the other author, Cassandra Clare.

After the presentation, I got at the end of the line hoping that I could have a chance to chat with Wheezy for a while. However, more people who came in late lined up after me, so we didn't have a long chat.

When it was my "turn," I said, "I'm looking for someone named Wheezy." She came over, we hugged and talked for a few minutes. She mentioned a few of YOU by name and pointed out the acknowledgement page in "Fade." Not only does she mention her invisible friends, she mentioned the others in that other place, ifyouknowwhatimean.

I was so happy to meet her and be a part of her success. I really miss Wheezy's wit, wisdom, and playfulness on OT. She said that most of the Circle of people are on Twitter now. I think I'll join Facebook and Twitter after my vacation. Might as well keep up with the rest of cyberspace.

BBVD on DWTS

So many initials! My friend's son is in the swing band, Big Bad Voodoo Daddy. They'll be performing on Dancing With the Stars this Tuesday night, March 17. Look for the short one! His daughter is 4 1/2 years old. She commented to her mom, "Mommy, I noticed that some of the other girls have desserts in their lunch boxes. Would it be possible for me to have a dessert, too?" Too funny. Not as cute as Froody's Lauren, but still cute.

Julie Chen filmed a segment on "The Unit." This show is filmed in areas close to my home. They closed a few streets the other day and left notices on our front doors, to expect loud explosions. Last week, the Ellen DeGeneres show visited a woman in my town. I recognized the condo unit, which is very close by. The woman went into the "golddigger" cage to scoop up money. She stuffed the bills into her clothes as the money twirled around in the wind in the cage.

We rented a movie last weekend, "Frozen River." Melissa Leo, who I had never heard of before, was nominated for Best Actress in the movie. It was excellent. Then we re-watched it all over again, while the producer and director commented on each scene and the details behind the scenes. It was a low-budget movie and quite good. I like the extras that come with renting DVD's.

I went into Walgreens a couple of weeks ago. I found "2-buck choc," which is a play on Trader Joe's "2-buck chuck." It was a huge chunk of chocolate for $2. Loved the name, 2-buck choc!

Wheezy is coming to town! She'll be in several locations within an hour of here, so I'm going to see her at a book signing on March 27!

Trader Joes

Here's a great youtube ad for Trader Joes. It's unauthorized so the creator had to photograph it undercover.

If you're a regular Trader Joes shopper, you'll identify with the ad. If you're not, you'll understand what the rest of us are raving about.

OK, who was banned? I looked at the profiles and couldn't locate a couple of people who I suspected of being banned. What do you think? Do you know?

I see that it's bad-weather and mucho snow time on the East Coast. This is the type of damage that happened in my backyard recently. Today, we're outside, sitting on the lounge chairs. It's in the mid 70's and I'm wearing the pink T-shirt that Zombs sent to me in our T-shirt exchange.

Today we checked out the hotels we'll be at in China, on the internet. They all look very nice and modern, with lots of amenities. We're also checking into phone calling card rates from China to the U.S. My friend who went to China last year used one specific company. Their rates are 12 cents a minute! Can't beat that!

We finished our on-line tax forms for our CPA and emailed the filled-in info to him. He uses a program called E-Organizer. Now he needs to do his magic.

Here's my shy little girl.
