1. What kind of soap is in your bathtub right now? None in bathtub. Shower has Oil of Olay body wash.

4. Are the dishes in your dishwasher clean or dirty? dirty, but only since last night
5. What is in your fridge? An 18 lb turkey for Thanksgiving and other Thanksgiving fixins.

November activities

We've seen a few movies lately. Months will go by without us going to the movies at all. Usually, we go in the fall, to see the releases that will probably be nominated for awards. We saw Michael Clayton (with George Clooney), Across the Universe (Beatles music), Hairspray, Into the Wild (magnificent scenery), Things We Lost in the Fire (Halle Berry and Benecio del Toro), and The Heartbreak Kid.

I play mah jong every week and we collect $2 apiece (I'm the treasurer) for a future special event. Last week we spent our money on a live musical comedy called "The Marvelous Wonderettes." It was at a small, 90-seat theatre. Only 4 women were in the show. It took place at a 1958 high school prom. The set and music were all from the 50's. After intermission, we were at their 10-year high school reunion, so the set and music were from the 60's. The audience received prom programs and we even got to vote on prom king and queen. It was so much fun. The show is moving to off-Broadway soon.

On Saturday, we drove to San Diego to see the Dead Sea Scrolls exhibit. The Dead Sea Scrolls dating from 250 BCE-68 CE, are one of the greatest archaeological finds of all time. The discovery began in 1947, in 11 caves, above Qumran, along the shores of the Dead Sea in Israel. These ancient manuscripts are written or engraved on animal skins, parchment, papyrus, and copper. The scrolls, many of them pieced together like puzzles from fragments and tatters, contain the oldest known biblical writings and also many religious texts not found in the Bible. We saw the Ten Commandments, the books of Leviticus and Job, Psalms scrolls, scrolls highlighting the life and thoughts of the Qumran community, and Deuteronomy meanuscripts. We also learned about how they were discovered, how they were sold and/or distributed, and how they were cared for. To say the least, the exhibit was amazing.

To top off our journey to San Diego, we went to the Melting Pot for dinner! It was a 3-hour feast of fondue, fondue, and more fondue. What a wonderful time!

Did anyone receive samples of cinnamon toast crunch and curves cereal with your newspaper? I had never had cinnamon toast crunch before; it was yummy! Not too nutritious, but still yummy.

We had 37 trick-or-treaters. Sadly, it's less each year. I need to get less candy each year or I'm going to look like a pumpkin soon. I know it's way past Halloween, but here's a couple of pumpkins that I liked:
