Have I Told You Lately That I Love You

Our latest concert was Rod Stewart. He was "Rockin' in the Round" and we had great seats-only 11 rows up from the floor seats. A concert in the round is so much better than having the stage at one end of the building. There was a ramp circling the stage. Rod and his back-up singers pranced around on the ramp while some fans were sitting between the ramp and the stage.

His back-up singers weren't pencil-thin, which I liked. He had a gorgeous female saxophone player, long blond hair and long legs, just like he likes them. Her name is Katja Rieckerman. Here's her picture.

He had a fabulous female fiddle and mandolin player, too, named Janna Jacoby. She joined the Dixie Chicks on their latest tour. He also had a beautiful diamond bracelet. I'm not sure, at his age, it could have been a diamond medical ID bracelet. *grin* By the way, at the concert, margaritas were $11, beer was $10, and a program was $20.

Here's some song lyrics that I like. I guess there's quite a few.

You're in my heart, you're in my soul

You'll be my breath should I grow old

You are my lover, you're my best friend

You're in my soul

My love for you is immeasurable

My respect for you immense

You're ageless, timeless, lace and fineness

You're beauty and elegance

You're a rhapsody, a comedy

You're a symphony and a play

You're every love song ever written

But honey what do you see in me

---------------------

May the good Lord be with you

Down every road you roam

And may sunshine and happiness

surround you when you're far from home

And may you grow to be proud

Dignified and true

And do unto others

As you'd have done to you

Be courageous and be brave

And in my heart you'll always stay

Forever Young, Forever Young

Forever Young, Forever Young

May good fortune be with you

May your guiding light be strong

Build a stairway to heaven

with a prince or a vagabond

And may you never love in vain

and in my heart you will remain

Forever Young, Forever Young

Forever Young, Forever Young

Forever YoungForever Young

And when you finally fly away

I'll be hoping that I served you well

For all the wisdom of a lifetime

No one can ever tell

But whatever road you choose

I'm right behind you, win or lose

Forever Young, Forever Young

Forever Young , Forever Young

----------------------------

If I listened long enough to you

I'd find a way to believe that it's all true

Knowing that you lied straight-faced while I cried

Still I look to find a reason to believe

Someone like you makes it hard to live without somebody else

Someone like you makes it easy to give never think about myself

If I gave you time to change my mind

I'd find a way just to leave the past behind

Knowing that you lied straight-faced while I cried

Still I look to find a reason to believe

-----------------------------

Stay away from my window

Stay away from my back door too

Disconnect the telephone line

Relax baby and draw that blind

Kick off your shoes and sit right down

Loosen off that pretty French gown

Let me pour you a good long drink

Ooh baby don't you hesitate cause

Tonights the night

It's gonna be alright

Cause I love you girl

Ain't nobody gonna stop us now

C'mon angel my hearts on fire

Don't deny your man's desire

You'd be a fool to stop this tide

Spread your wings and let me come inside

Tonights the night

It's gonna be alright

Cause I love you girl

Ain't nobody gonna stop us now

Don't say a word my virgin child

Just let your inhibitions run wild

The secret is about to unfold

Upstairs before the night's too old

Tonights the nightIt's gonna be alright

Cause I love you woman

Ain't nobody gonna stop us now

-------------------

If you want my body and you think I'm sexy, come on sugar let me know.

If you really need me, just reach out and touch me, come on honey tell me so.

----------------------------

Have I told you lately that I love you

Have I told you there's no one else above you

Fill my heart with gladness

take away all my sadness

ease my troubles that's what you do

For the morning sun in all it's glory

greets the day with hope and comfort too

You fill my life with laughter

and somehow you make it better

ease my troubles that's what you do

There's a love that's divine

and it's yours and it's mine

like the sun

And at the end of the day

we should give thanks and pray

to the one, to the one

Have I told you lately that I love you

Have I told you there's no one else above you

Fill my heart with gladness

take away all my sadness

ease my troubles that's what you do.

Puffy's Big Weekend

The weekend's list of events:

1. Car Rally. Our team came in 2nd place! It was so much fun. We had to decipher various puzzles, find about 8 different locations and then find someone to take our picture at each location. We also had to find about 10 scavenger hunt items. We got bonus points for finding a food product endorsed by a celebrity who wasn't Paul Newman. We found a box of Frosted Flakes with Johnny Depp on the box. We also got bonus points for including a fireman in the picture as we made a human pyramid at a firestation. I look forward to this every year.

2. Our car rally teammates were invited to a St. Patrick's day party so we tagged along. It was at the Kelly's house. Everything was green: the beer, the wine, the chips, and the dip. They had the traditional corned beef and cabbage, of course. Mrs. Kelly is an interior decorator. She uses what people already have in their home and rearranges things to make the house look great!

3. Griffith Park Observatory and Planetarium. This is a famous observatory that was closed down for 4 years for remodeling and renovations. $90 million later, it's an amazing place. They literally lifted up the previous building so they could add two floors of exhibits below ground.

4. Disney Concert Hall. This guy was playing his organ. *waves to HD and MTW*
A world-renowned organist (chair of the organ department at Juilliard) gave a performance on this world-renowned organ. It looked similar to those huge organs that you see in cathedrals, except it was made out of wood,.metal and lead. It took 2 years to build, and another year to get acclimated to the temperature and air inside the concert hall. It has 6,134 pipes ranging in size from 32 feet to a few inches. The organist said it's the best organ he's ever played. He played with both hands and with both feet! His feet were flying on the wooden pedals! Here's a picture of it.

Other than that, I didn't get much done at home. It was a full, fun weekend.

Weekend Entertainment

We went to Marie Callender's Saturday night. On the weekends, they have a comedy show in the bar. Last night's show was a pretty big comedy star: Mark Eddie. He's a "rock 'n roll comedian." He plays parodies of songs and does impressions of singers. Here are links to some of his jokes and songs. Ex: "Marijuanaville" instead of Jimmy Buffet's "Margaritaville."

He combines songs and laughs. Pearl Jam, AC/DC, Jim Morrison, Neil Diamond ("I Am Sam, Sam I Am" instead of "I Am, I Said"), Heavy Metal, Hip Hop Rapping (by Disney's Tigger), etc. He sang a song with only vowels, a song with the letters of the alphabet, and one all about Barbie, from A to Z.
He did a great bit about changing radio stations in the old days, trying to find your station on the dial. First you get a country station, then switch back and get a Michael Bolton, then switch to a Spanish station, then back again and find Michael Bolton, then a religious station, then Michael Bolton again. Well, you had to be there.

In other news, we traded in the camera we won for an IPOD!!!! Yes, that's right, an IPOD! Any suggestions for how to use this thing?
