Last post of 2007

It looks like this may be my last post of the year. I think I'll steal the "list" layout from a couple of my bloggy buddies.

1. Yay for no traffic during holiday time. Mr. Puffy got to work in 30 minutes instead of 1 hr 15 mins. My trip this morning was 18 mins instead of a possible 45 mins.

2. We saw the musical production "The Color Purple." It had the same cast as when Bravie saw it in San Francisco. Michelle Williams from Destiny's Child was Shug Avery; LaToya London from American Idol was Nettie, Celie's sister. The actresses who played Celie and Sophia were outstanding. The woman who played Sophia had such a marvelous stage presence about her; she knocked your socks off!

Our tickets were originally in row "U" of the orchestra, which means only V, W, X, Y, and Z were in back of us. We asked at the box office if they had anything better. "Yes, ma'am, how about these 2 seats in row G?" OMG....7th row center!!!

3. Zombie posted a great website, NORAD, on OT, that tracked Santa Claus on Christmas Eve. I had fun all afternoon on the 24th, tracking Santa around the world.

4. I always look forward to the TV weatherman on the 11 pm news on Christmas Eve. He reports on Santa and the reindeer flying through the sky.

5. My friend loaned me the DVD of "The Secret." It gives food for thought on how to better your life; pretty interesting.

6. On Christmas Day, we saw 2 movies and went for Chinese food. We saw "Charlie Wilson's War" and "Juno." We ran into 5 other couples we know at the movies and 3 other couples at the restaurant. All Jewish, of course. LOL

7. On Christmas night, we drove around looking at Christmas lights. Our small hometown newspaper has a contest every year. They post the individual winners and the street winners. Here's a few of the homes. One of the streets had verses from "Twas the Night Before Christmas" on the lawn of each home. Hey you people who live in snow country-do you see the fake snow on the grass and bushes? LOL

8. I'm feeling a great sadness that some of our bloggy friends aren't posting or visiting anymore. *smooch to you who may be lurking* You know who you are.

9. We're having our annual New Year's Day party. I haven't done a thing to get ready for it.

10. Here is Cleo. She's tracking a lizard on the window screen in one picture. She snagged a big red gift box in the other picture.

Happy Whatever!

To see how I've spent my Friday evening, check out these two:

First, check out the snowball fight. Can you find Bravie, Frodis, Deb, Nookie, and me?

Here's the Puffys at Hanukah time:

Edited to add another one with Luna, Kim, Glowie, and Fro.

Laughter and hilarity have rocked the Puffy household this evening.

I wish I could have figured out how to make a direct link, but alas, I couldn't. Some of the pictures I found of our other bloggy buddies didn't have enough pixels to make a good picture.

Edited to add another jib jab cartoon featuring Mark, TKit, Catt, MM, and Mr. Swami:

Time Flies

Where have the past couple of weeks gone? I'm busier than ever at work. I thought my work would be winding down, but instead, I could be full time, if I wanted to. Which I don't.

How about some randoms?

I saw a gift package of Vodka at the store: Effen Vodka. LOL The name cracks me up. Maybe we should give it to Mr. Puffy's boss: Effen Vodka. Ha!

A nearby pumpkin lot turns into a Christmas tree lot right after Thanksgiving. So they had a sign "FREE PUMPKINS" for the week before Thanksgiving. I stopped and picked out 2 big orange pumpkins, a big white pumpkin, and about 10 squashes/gourds of various sizes, colors, and shapes. They made nice decorations for Thanksgiving.

My good buddy Skyraider died on November 26, 2003. Early this past Sunday morning, I woke up and went back to sleep. I had a vivid dream that morning, November 26. It was all about Skyraider. Susan Lucci "Erica" on All My Children, was talking to me. She told me that she and Skyraider had been living together for a year or so. They lived in Arizona because her daughter went to a special school there. I asked her if she knew that he had died. She hadn't heard, so I told her all about his illness and death. I recounted the whole incident in my dream. When I woke up, I showered and only then did I realize that this was the anniversary of his death. Spooky. *waves to Sky*

I now travel to kids' homes for speech therapy. I work with a set of twins. The mom takes one twin out to go shopping or do errands while I work with the other one. Then she returns and does the same thing with the other one. I saw a little piece of paper on the coffee table. I muttered, "what's this?" and the little 2 1/2 old boy said "I know" and ran into the other room. I followed him. He came back down the hallway holding a tampon. Uh, um. I told him that it was Mommy's and he should put it back. He didn't want to. I didn't want to snoop, but we walked into the mom's bathroom. He opened the cabinet below the sink and I saw the box of tampons. He put it back. Thankfully, he doesn't speak well enough to tell his mom what happened!

I went to a party on Tuesday night. Someone who I didn't know told me that I had beautiful skin. (Thank you, Bare Minerals)

Another woman told me that she liked my hair. Wow! I must attend these functions more often.

I received my funny email! The minute I saw the pretty handwriting, I knew what it was: funny email for me! It was a bunch of Canadian McDonalds monopoly game pieces!! I was very excited to get it. The best part: I didn't have any of those pieces! LOL

Has anyone seen the show, "Last One Standing" on the Discovery channel? It's a reality show, a REAL reality show. Six men face raw and intense competition among the world's most remote indigenous people. These six men travel all over the world, to a different location for each week's show. Places they visit include Brazil, South Africa, Mexico, India, Mongolia, Senegal, and New Guinea. They compete with local warriors in fierce competition, specific to the region. It's a thrill to watch! We've been enjoying it so much. It's on at various times during the week.

Mr. Puffy and I are going for massages next Saturday. Then we'll go home and dress for an office party through a place that I work at. The following week we'll be going to his office party. It's at a hotel and they pay for us to spend the night. Yippee!

Who has office parties? Office gift exchanges? Gifts for the boss? Any ideas for the boss who has everything?
