Vacation News

*sings* On the road again...*

We leave on Sunday for a 2-week driving trip. We'll be in about 8 states. We may touch a bit of Arizona and a bit of Idaho while driving. That's big news for us, because being from California, we rarely get to another state unless it's for a vacation.

First we drive to St. George, Utah and Cedar City, Utah. We'll visit Zion National Park. Then we drive to Salt Lake City and then see Jackson Hole, Wyoming and the Grand Tetons.

After a few days in Yellowstone National Park, we have a long drive through Wyoming, seeing various old towns, to Mt. Rushmore and Crazy Horse. Then we'll get down to Denver, Colorado and visit friends. We'll also see Rocky Mountain National Park, the Air Force Academy, and Garden of the Gods.

We head back west to see Arches National Park and Bryce Canyon. We'll spend our last night in Las Vegas and see the Viva Elvis Cirque de Soleil show.

I'm sure we'll find lots of cool spots along the road. This is a different kind of trip for me and I'm looking forward to seeing more of America.

bloggy complaints

For the past few weeks, I've had to log into blogger before I post. That means that I have to go to my dashboard and sometimes input my information (sometimes just going there is enough) before I comment on someone's blog. What a pain.

When it was in the 100's here last week, it was unbearably hot upstairs at night. All the windows were open, the ceiling fan and room fan were on, and we only slept with a sheet covering us. Miserable. This week it's in the 80's during the day and pleasantly cool at night (60's).

My cat loves to be brushed, but she bites me or swats at me when I stop brushing her. She's possessive of most rooms and surfaces in the house. If we're in her territory, she swats at us. She could beat up Muhammed Ali, especially now that he has Parkinson's. Is that mean of me?

My friend's mother-in-law passed away. She was in the shower, had a stroke, and was lying there, in a coma all day long. I don't know how she didn't die, being drenched in cold water all day, until her husband came home from work. My friend went to pick her up at noon, to go somewhere, but there was no answer at the door. That's because the lady had fallen in the shower. So my friend thought her mother-in-law had gone to the doctor and forgotten about their date. The lady had an advanced directive, but her husband didn't want to honor it. He wanted to keep her plugged in. The son had to go to court to get her taken off life support. Very sad situation.

I wanted to blog about all downer things today. The next blog will be about our upcoming vacation, which will be happy and refreshing news. It'll be a good chance to get out of the blahhhhhs.
