*sings* Goin' to the Chapel

We leave Tuesday for the Midwest. *prays for Indian summer*

All wedding plans are in place; all my papers are in a folder; everything is packed except for the wedding clothes which will stay hung up on hangers until Monday night. Seating charts and guest lists are made; vendor names, addresses, and phone numbers are on lists. Lists make the world go round.

Rain was predicted, but now I see in the 10-day forecast on weather.com that it will be around 50 degrees, but no rain. Here on the west coast, it's in the mid 70's, sunny, no rain and perfect weather for an outdoor wedding. We saw "Smokey Joe's Cafe" last night and didn't even need a light jacket when leaving the show. We had our first Chinese food since we returned from China. Yummy.

Today I drove through my very first drive-yourself carwash. *waves to Frodis*
It was so cool. I felt a little dizzy and disoriented, unable to see through the windshield. The colors of the soap were all rainbowy. When we exited the drive-through carwash, there were vacuums available. Mr. Puffy vacuumed the passenger side while I watched. Then when he asked if I had vacuumed my side (driver's side), I blinked and said, "no, I was watching how you do it." Then he vacuumed my side and the floor of the back seat and cleaned all the leather. I should have tipped him $1 or $2.

I hope my eye make up won't run because I'm sure I'll cry. Mr. Puffy scotchguarded my shoes in case it rains or in case the lawn we walk on down the aisle is wet. The photographer is bringing umbrellas just in case he needs them for pictures. But, nope, the weather will be perfect. Pictures to follow, in a week or so...

Dr. Oz

I'm enjoying my daily dose of Dr. Oz. I record the Ellen DeGeneres show every day, too. I had recorded Dreamgirls which was on TV 3 weeks ago and watched it today. Jennifer Hudson is amazing. If you watch Dr. Oz next week and see a show about "drinking moms," or formerly drinking moms, you'll see the mom of one of the little girls I work with.

We were at the Dodgers game Saturday night when they clinched their division. I was hoping they'd lose Friday night so I could possibly see the crucial game. It was so exciting to see them win. It was one of the few Dodgers games where most of the fans stayed until the very end.

I got a call today that the Leiber and Stoller lecture/discussion/presentation was cancelled. I really wanted to see them, the day after Smokey Joe's Cafe.

Wedding countdown has started. Vendor checks have been mailed and lists are being made. Lots of lists. Lists of things to bring from home, things to bring to the wedding location and things to take home from the wedding location. So many lists. Over the weekend, I asked my daughter if she wished she had eloped. She replied, "sometimes."

3 weeks to go

We leave for Chicago in 3 weeks. However, my daughter is moving to Milwaukee in a week. The movers pack up on Thursday and the household items will arrive on Saturday. Why does it take 2 days to get to Milwaukee?

Next weekend, we're going to see Smokey Joe's Cafe which is a presentation of Lieber and Stoller's great music from the 50's and 60's. Then, on Sunday we're going to a small panel discussion with them. The timing is great for us, because we leave for the wedding on the following Tuesday, but I'll squeeze in the packing.

I just ordered invitations for the reception we'll be having here in January! I'm going to love this party. I get to do it all on my own!
