More pictures

We're busy planning the local wedding reception which will be on January 16.
We'll have about the same number of people that we had at the wedding. It'll be a luncheon at a wine bar. Here's what our wine cork/bottle stopper favors will look like. You can see them from the top of the cork.

Here's a few more pictures from the wedding.

Wedding Pictures

Here's a few wedding pictures. All in all, everything turned out wonderful. It was a memorable day. The good far outweighed the little errors. It's just that the people throwing the party know about the little mistakes or things that didn't go quite right. The guests are happy and partying.
I'm not complaining about the event, but just to fill some blog space...The DJ sounded like the announcer for the Rocky and Bullwinkle show. His order of events wasn't exactly what I had given to him. I had to tell the waiters to hold up on serving the cake so soon and a few other logistical items. The photographer could have been better with his creativity and following the list of pictures that we wanted. The wedding started a little early and ended a little earlier than scheduled, which was fine, considering the weather. But, when we got to the cocktail reception area at 6 pm, we asked for a drink. The bartender said he wasn't supposed to start until 6:30 pm. So we had to sign something saying he could start early. Am I really going to let the guests hang around with no drinks or hors d'oeuvres for 1/2 hour? I didn't see all the hors d'oeuvres choices and I'm not so sure that they served all of them, but, I have to believe them. I wanted 6-8 hors d'oeuvres per person, but I only had 4. Same with the number of drinks. It ended being about 5 drinks per person.

At the airport going home, I changed in the bathroom stall into my stretchy pants so I'd be comfortable on the plane. A woman in the main part of the airport bathroom asked "is this your card?" Ack!!! My drivers license had fallen out of my pocket of the pants I had taken off and slipped under the door into the area with the sinks. I usually keep it in my wallet, of course, but it was in my pocket so I could show it to airport security. Thank goodness that woman saw it and slipped it under the door to me.

It was an unforgettable day. The flowers and cake were far beyond our expectations. They were magnificient. The most important thing is that my daughter was and is extremely happy. The groom's parents thanked us innumberable times for such a lovely day. I'm very happy with how it turned out.
P.S. It turned out that the problem with the groom's divorced dad and his other children was the dad's long-time girlfriend. He has now broken up with her. The wedding was the impetus for the dad to talk to all of his children and to mend their broken relationship. We noticed that he spent most of the party talking at length to at least one of his 5 children at various times. He thanked us for this opportunity to get back into their lives. I am so happy about this.
