Meme

Here’s a meme I found in Badger’s blog. This one asks for the first sentence from the first blog entry of each month of 2006. Anyone care to try it for themselves?

January: Happy New Year to all you bloggies out there.
February: I was recently awarded the "Woman of the Year" honor in a local organization.
March: Watch out everyone, Mr. Puffy is channeling Mr. Nookie.
April: Uh, what's the date of this post?
May: Well, it's better than no update at all...
June: The Top 9 Signs Your Pet Has Been Using Your Computer
July: Here it is, a Puffy original.
August: We leave Friday for Ft. Lauderdale to catch a slow boat to the Caribbean.
September: I know I have to update.
October: Alice requested a new meme, so here's a little quiz that I found in Entertainment Weekly at the doctor's office. Yes, I ripped out the page and hid it in my purse.
November: Yes, Spiders. A whole hour of spiders.
December: Mr. Puffy got a free training session with Simon at the gym last week. Hubba hubba.

Happy New Year everyone! Here's a little New Year's fun for you:

2nd Vacation 1st

This is my second try. I wrote out a blog post and the entire thing never showed up. I'll try again.

I was home for only 3 days out of 2 weeks and I missed my Kittyyyyyyyyyy! After the cruise, Mr. Puffy had business in Modesto, a small town south of San Francisco. I went with him and we also visited his sister in the same area. Modesto was home to a young George Lucas and home to "American Graffiti." There's a small triangle in the middle of an intersection called "George Lucas Plaza." This statue, in the plaza, represents the movie. It shows 2 teens from the 50's with their '57 chevy.

After reading about Catt's and Arkie's adventures in wine tasting in Livermore, we stopped to do a little wine tasting ourselves. We took the BART train into San Francisco one day to see the Macy's holiday windows. The displays were made by the local pet adoption agency. Each window had a real live cat or dog in a scene from a holiday movie. This is the window from the "A Christmas Story" window.

We went to two different Mexican restaurants to celebrate our anniversary. On Wednesday night, they brought us the best-tasting flan we ever had, as a birthday gift. On Friday night, the waiter said they don't have desserts, but would we like a shot of tequila for our anniversary. I said "OK." *eyes bugging out of head* Mr. Puffy downed his tequila swiftly and sucked on his lime. It took me about 10 gulps, sucking on lime in between to finish that shot. YIKES!

A final treat was the earthquake Friday night. It occured at 10:50 pm, and soon after we saw "breaking news" on the 11:00 pm news assuring us that we did, indeed experience an earthquake. More fun.

Happy New Year everyone!

Back from Vacation

I've missed you all and I have a lot of catching up to do.

I came home to 2 cookie exchange boxes! We had no food in the house, so we filled up on 4 varieties of cookies all day. Coco sent gingerbread cookies, decorated oh-so-cutely. To add to the fun, I had to piece them together as if I was doing a puzzle on Survivor. That didn't take away from their yumminess, however. She also sent great chewy chocolate mint cookies in a nifty closeable bag. Thanks, Coco!

Someone named George from Tennessee sent me cookies that I had never tasted before. I love them! I had coconut and cranberry cookies, and peanut butter cookies with a little snickers bar inside. They're fun to eat! They came in the cutest penguin tins. I will definitely save those tins! Thanks, Arkie!

In opening up my week's worth of mail, I found some address labels from a charitable organization. I receive address labels with requests for donations all the time. I wish the organizations would think of other items to send. Sometimes I get note pads and calendars. Anyway, these address labels were from a charity that I could use: THE ANXIETY DISORDERS ASSOCIATION OF AMERICA. Have you ever heard of that one? How many of us could be charter members?

In honor of Hanukah, here's a funny youtube video. It's about how to spell Hanukah. Check it out:

Waves

Two kinds of waves:
1. Puffy<---waves "hasta la vista" for a week.
2. The waves I'll be riding on this next week. We'll be on a Mexican cruise. It seems strange to put all my stuff into a white purse in December. Bathing suit packed? check Shorts and tank tops packed? check

Here's a beautiful on-line holiday card for all of you. There's little instructions as you read it, which makes it even more beautiful. Turn on your speakers, too.

Have a fun week preparing for the holidays and I'll update when I return, all relaxed and tan.

Simon Says

Mr. Puffy got a free training session with Simon at the gym last week. Hubba hubba. This picture doesn't do him justice. There's a couple of pictures of Simon the trainer at the gym, but they're all behind glass. I took this with my new cell phone camera. *yay, I have a cell phone camera* However the glass reflection messed up the picture.

Another *yay* for me. I sent out all my homemade and baked goodies. I dashed out to the post office on Friday afternoon at 4:30 pm. No line. I was in and out of the post office in 5 minutes.

Have you seen the new digital picture frames? Excellent gift. We bought one for one of the bosses. *kicks dirt* I want one, too. P.S. There's dirt outside; no snow. *giggle*
